Name: Swarnakumar

Age: 39

 Location: Bengaluru

1.    How long has it been since you quit social media?

I never ventured into that zone.

I like to avoid getting into things from which I cannot get out. Ultimately it is a part of the WEB, the World Wide Web 😊

2.    What are your hobbies?

I like to Read, Exercise, DIY (Right from the toilet flush to my Car)

3.    Have you ever felt left out in conversations among friends because you don’t use social media?

Yes, but it has more to do with the awareness of what is going around than not being on social media.

4.    During this pandemic did you ever feel like you want to get back on social media?

No

5.    How do you think social media is affecting the world today?

I think you can reach out to masses today because of social media. On one hand you can save a life by seeking help through social media on the other hand you can see elections and wars being manipulated via social media. It is a matter of choice.

6.    What are the major disadvantages you see in people addicted to social media?

For me addiction is addiction (there is no good or bad addiction) whether it is social media or coffee, once you are addicted you are a slave.

7.    What are the advantages you have over people who use social media?

I think I have the choice …

to see what I want to see

to hear what I want to hear

8.    What are your thoughts on YouTube?

For me as an individual, it is a vice.

I have time and again wasted a lot of time watching unprofitable things which I could have invested wisely. Since I have not overcome it, I am  facing difficulties helping my kids overcome it.

9.    Do you use a smartphone? If yes, would you shift completely to a Flip phone if given a chance?

I have been using a flip phone until end of 2020.

With digital payments happening over smartphones and the ease of accessing music, camera and online trainings etc I had to move to smart phones.

I am sure moving back to flip phones is no more possible.

10.Does technology simplify life or make it more complicated? Share your thoughts!

I think life is simplified

11.Do you think being inactive on social media affects your career growth? E.g.: Losing out on opportunities on LinkedIn.

No. Mainly because I believe in the saying “ I do not know what the future holds for me but I know who holds my future”

12.Describe your idea of a perfect day?

I can write a book over this 😊

13.What advice would you like to give the younger generation?

I am not yet wise enough to give advice.

14.Did the pandemic increase your overall time spent online?

Yes it did!

15.How much time per day do you spend online (Excluding work).  Eg: Reading a book online, Reading online news, DIY projects, Motivational videos, etc?

From 1 To 1.5 hrs. I want to reduce it to 15 mins

16. Do you use the Alarm Clock, Calendar, and To-do list(Notes) on your phone?

I use the alarm clock.

17.Would prefer to take photographs using a camera or your phone?

I would prefer a camera.

18.Do you watch movies/documentaries on Netflix/Hot star/Amazon Prime? If No do you feel it is a waste of time?

I do not watch movies and I feel I can invest the time for fruitful purposes

Lost in Two Dimensions

We gaze at screens, day and night, A world so flat, yet shining bright. Pixels dance, but can’t replace, The warmth of touch, a loved one’s face. No scent of earth, no ocean's breeze, No velvet grass beneath our knees. No taste of rain, no fire’s glow, Just silent echoes, a hollow show. Are we alive, or just a view? A life so crisp, yet missing hue. Step outside, let senses soar, Feel, breathe, taste—be whole once more. # unLearn

His Final Message to the World: Don’t Give Up on Your Dream”

My father’s brother — our dearest Lalu Uncle — went to be with the Lord in October 2025. He had travelled to Delhi to deliver this TEDx talk, but sadly, he never got the chance. He passed away before he could step onto that stage. If he had delivered this speech, it would have been one of the most inspiring and viral talks of all time. Take just 2 minutes to read through his incredible testimony — a journey of failure, faith, resilience, and destiny. The last speech Abraham Zachariah prepared – to deliver at TEDx I didn’t go to school. I was sent to school. Hence, for 10th standard, marks were very low and I could get admission only for Commerce group, as no one wanted (is 55 years ago) in my home state Kerala. My mother was very upset as my cousins and friends got into Science groups and she pushed me into Commerce Group. I was used to tell everyone that “Useless fellow, useless fellow, useless fellow are in Commerce Group and all the useless ones are in commerce group.” She was...
