The Grey Sorcery of Modern Technology

As soon as I wake up, I turn off the alarm on my phone and start my very first session of mindless scrolling. The urge to refresh Instagram or open WhatsApp has become a reflexive behavior . I wonder when did social media become mandatory. It slowly crept into our daily existence using our fears and is now conditioning what we see and read thereby affecting our future perpetuity.                             This untamed tangle of apps, notifications, emails, and photos is etching away our natural ability to focus completely on one task at a time. With ten tabs open at a time we are multitasking and putting our brains into hyperdrive. It is manipulating our moods and sleep-wake cycles. The uneasiness and feeling of alienation when you forget your phone at home is the best example of how the giant techs have pulled us so insistently into this cave of distractions.                              Vibrant videos of brand collaborations and promotions are hammered

April Rain

Soothing whispers of a gentle breeze, Swept amid my curly hair. As I sat  on the porch with a cup of chai, Bloated ashen clouds dashed into each other, They waited to explode and turned darker by the second. Trees swaying a welcome dance, While the earth blew a mighty wind to greet the approaching rain, I look up as I felt a spray of tiny beads cascading down my arm. And there those first droplets kiss the planet. It left an earthy aroma all around. Then with a Rumble and a roar came those majestic drops, Shattering the ground with force, It created a beautiful serenade on the roof And steady drumming on the windows. It enriched the thirsty soil, Making every dusty leaf glossy, Cheerful, bright, and bold is the Rain It calms your nerves and makes you smile Whether you are dancing in the rain  or watching it from a confined space Rain will help those anxieties slip away And water your soul with love.
