For the longest time, I believed that MDS was the only way to succeed in dentistry—more prestige, better career opportunities. That’s what everyone seemed to say.
I even appeared for the NEET exam and secured an exceptionally good rank. But it wasn’t enough for a government seat, and I wasn’t willing to invest a fortune in a private one.
That’s when I paused and asked myself: Do I really want this?
❌
Here’s why I chose a different path:
⏳ I don’t want to confine myself to a single specialty when dentistry is constantly evolving.
🚀 I don’t want to chase a title just because society expects me to.
✨ My true passion lies elsewhere—teaching, creating content, writing, and empowering others.
Instead of spending three years specializing in MDS, I can invest that time in sharpening skills that truly excite me—public speaking, teaching, video editing, writing, and marketing.
I can take courses, gain hands-on experience, and build something unique rather than simply following the crowd.
I don’t want to spend my days locked within the four walls of a clinic, only to look back and regret not spending enough time with my family.
What I do want is freedom. 🕊️
✅ The freedom to learn and grow in ways that align with my passion.
✅ The freedom to shape my career on my own terms.
✅ The freedom to explore the untapped side of dentistry—teaching, creating, empowering, and helping others—because, at the end of the day, success is defined by impact, not just a degree.
So, no, I won’t be pursuing MDS. But that doesn’t make me any less ambitious—it simply means I see success differently. 💡
Have you ever questioned a path that everyone expected you to follow?
